How records are created

A product record is created following an authorized award decision and approval of its public product details. It is not created simply because an application was submitted or a physical item was purchased.

The published record identifies the actual model or version reviewed. Supporting application evidence and private contact information are held separately from the public fields.

What the review covers

Mom’s Pick Awards reviews submitted product information and supporting documents online. These include the product's identity, intended use, instructions, warnings and evidence relevant to the claims considered.

No samples are required. The program does not conduct home trials, laboratory tests or clinical studies. An applicant may submit relevant external reports; the review considers their relationship to the product and claim rather than treating them as tests performed by NPF.

How review works

How to read the fields

Field Meaning
Product and brand The named product and the brand associated with it.
Model or version The particular model, edition or software version reviewed.
Category The product's primary family-related use.
Intended users The users and limits described in the relevant product materials.
Award year The year of the authorized award decision.
Scope The recognition described for that specific product.
Public reference The identifier shared by the certificate and both websites.
Status and dates Whether recognition is current, corrected, replaced or withdrawn, with relevant dated notes.

Free inclusion and digital rights

Recognized products receive free registry inclusion, a free electronic certificate and free permission to use the authorized digital award mark within its scope. There is no paid registry placement or digital renewal fee.

Optional trophies, printed certificates and physical labels are ordered separately. Buying, declining, canceling or receiving a refund for those items does not influence the award or the free digital benefits.

Updates and statuses

An Active record identifies current recognition of the stated version. Updated identifies a correction or clarification. Replaced directs readers to a linked later record or certificate issue. Withdrawn means recognition is no longer active.

Historical information is retained so an earlier certificate or statement can be understood in context. A recorded change does not silently extend recognition to a different product.

Limits and parent next steps

The registry records award recognition. It is not a guarantee that a product suits every family, a medical endorsement or a substitute for current instructions and official recall information.

Compare the exact identity with the product in hand or under consideration. Read the scope, intended users and dated status notes. Report a concrete mismatch through the concern form.
