Choose the kind of help you need, then contact the organization responsible for that service. Our directory links to official resources for health, family needs, child care and development.

| What you need | Where to begin |
|---|---|
| A question about your or your child's health | Your care team; use the directory for official health information and provider searches. |
| Emotional support after birth or loss | A qualified health professional or a support organization with a clear description of its service. |
| Food or other everyday essentials | Official nutrition and benefits resources for your state or area. |
| Child care or preschool options | State child care resources and the provider's own contact route. |
| A concern about development | Your child's health care team and your state's early intervention or education resources. |
You can begin with a short description: “I need help finding child care that is open when I finish work.” Ask whether the organization handles that need, who is eligible and how to take the next step. You do not need to tell a full personal history on the first call.

A directory listing is a link to an outside organization. That provider decides eligibility, cost, appointments and availability. Check information on its official page before sending documents or personal details.
If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical attention, contact local emergency services or a medical professional promptly. NPF's website forms receive resource and organizational inquiries; they do not provide emergency response or individual clinical care.
For pregnancy or postpartum health warning signs, read CDC's urgent maternal warning signs.
If you cannot find a guide, encounter an unclear explanation or have trouble using a download, send the page link and your question. For service access or an application, contact the outside provider directly.
