Raise a concern

If your concern relates to conduct or the way a child or family is represented, choose Safeguarding or conduct concern on the contact form. Describe what happened, where it appeared and what you want NPF to review. Include a reference number if there has been earlier contact.

Send a safeguarding concern

For immediate danger or suspected abuse requiring urgent action, contact the appropriate emergency or child protection authority. An NPF form is not an emergency reporting service.

Participation in a story or image requires a clear explanation of the intended use and appropriate permission. A person should understand what will be published and have a genuine choice about taking part. Permission for one use does not automatically permit every future use.

Information that can identify a child

A name is not the only identifying detail. A school, location, routine, case record or combination of facts can reveal a child's identity. Public materials should use only what is needed and respect the child's and family's dignity.

Educational examples

Fictional practice situations are labeled as examples. They do not represent families served by NPF and must not be turned into testimonials. In group practice, use the supplied examples rather than private family cases.

Review and responsibility

Concerns need to reach the person responsible for the publication, interaction or organizational decision. A reply should explain the matter being addressed and any further information needed. Acknowledging a report does not mean its facts have already been established.
